Now you should be aware, that your guinea pig will experience fluctuations in weight from week-to-week, but this is normal and they should only be small. It's when you notice a larger weight change like 3oz or 85g that you should become extremely concerned ( as this is a lot of weight to lose within one week) pay attention to your pets behavior. Has he stopped eating or drinking? Can you see diarrhea? You should pay close attention to your pet over the next 12-24 hours. If your pet's weight doesn't improve or worryingly worsens, then you should immediately go to your vet with all your check records. |
